Appleseed: Plant It30s · 1920×1080 · Canvas 2D
The prompt
Build a 30-second procedural promotional animation for my financial planning startup, Appleseed, as ONE self-contained index.html (Canvas 2D, no external libraries, fonts, images or assets — every pixel drawn by code). Make the finished animation, not a demo.
STYLE — rough risograph print
- Looks hand-printed, not slick or "AI-looking". Keep it simple: bold flat shapes, few details, chunky strokes.
- Cream paper stock (#F3EEDF) with subtle fibre texture.
- Limited ink palette in Appleseed colors: forest green-black #143A2A, leaf green #1C9458, mint #96D2AC, sunflower yellow #F8B424 (accent), plus a paper-colored "knockout" ink for light shapes on dark fields.
- Riso texture: halftone dot screens at different angles per ink, uneven ink density, paper-tooth specks, slight mis-registration offset per ink, and a hand-drawn "boil" (shapes wobble at 12 fps). All textures generated once from a seeded PRNG.
- Each scene gets its own full-bleed ink field (cream, mint, halftone yellow, solid green) that opens as a rough circle wipe out of the logo mark.
- Type: native serif (ui-serif / Georgia) for headlines, -apple-system for small caps labels. Big, minimal text.
THE LOGO
The Appleseed mark is a "fleur": six almond-shaped leaves radiating from a center (one pointing straight up), in leaf green, next to a serif "Appleseed" wordmark. The fleur is the constant center point of the whole film — every scene is built around it, and it moves/scales/rotates between scenes via keyframes. Open and close on the full logo lockup.
TIMELINE (120 BPM grid, 1920×1080, time-based)
1. 0–3.6s Seed (cream): a small ink dot pops on paper, rings ripple out, six leaves sprout into the fleur, the "Appleseed" wordmark wipes in beside it, then wipes away.
2. 3.6–8s Five minutes (mint field): a chunky stopwatch with a paper-white face, heavy forest outline, a crown on top and 5 numbered minute marks; a green halftone wedge sweeps one full turn; a burst of rays on completion. Text: "A full plan in five minutes."
3. 8–13.6s 500 futures (halftone yellow field + cream graph-paper grid): a fan of ~26 thick green lines flows out of the fleur and spreads to the right like a Monte Carlo cone, with a mint 25–75% band, a dark median line, and cream dots riding the paths. Text: "500 futures." / "Simulated for free."
4. 13.6–19s The Epiphany Engine (solid green field): a cream orbit ellipse around the fleur carrying four simple icons (sun, house, umbrella shedding rain, coin stack with a sprout). Each question's icon swings to the front, ringed in yellow, as its question wipes in: "When can I retire?", "How much house can I afford?", "Can my plan weather a crash?". Small tracked label at the top: "THE EPIPHANY ENGINE".
5. 19–23.6s Together (cream field): a green halftone circle ("YOU") and a yellow circle ("PARTNER") split out of the fleur, orbit each other and overprint into one; a small mint "PARENT" circle joins from the left. Text: "Plan it together."
6. 23.6–30s Signature: on mint, the fleur sits at the top above "Free to use. $0." ("$0." in green), with three leaf-bulleted lines popping in on the beat — "Unlimited saved plans", "Unlimited AI advisor", "One-click stress tests & solvers". Then the field wipes back to cream, the fleur slides into the logo lockup, "Appleseed" wipes in, then the italic tagline "Advisor-grade financial planning, beautifully simple." with a green underline sized to the tagline, then "APPLESEEDPLANNER.COM". The final frame HOLDS on screen at the end — scenes that run to 30s must keep drawing, never go blank.
MOTION
Eased, springy motion (easeInOutCubic, easeOutBack overshoot), text reveals as left-to-right wipes, pops land on beats. No rigid linear movement.
ARCHITECTURE
- render(t) is a pure, deterministic function of time; seekable to any frame.
- Seeded PRNG (mulberry32) + integer hash for per-frame jitter. Never call Math.random().
- Timeline is a data array of cues {start, duration, kind, scene, transition, params}; the fleur's position/size/rotation/halo is a keyframe track.
- Render at devicePixelRatio; pre-bake the paper and ink-field sheets and pre-mix every ink pattern at load so playback holds 60 fps.
CONTROLS & EXPORT
- Play/pause (space), replay, scrubber with time readout and scene markers, ←/→ steps 1/24 s.
- ?t=12.5 opens paused at that time (for inspection).
- Record button: canvas.captureStream(60) + MediaRecorder, saving MP4 where supported and WebM otherwise, including audio if sound is on.
- Audio (WebAudio, muted by default): warm major-key synth pad and plucked arpeggios on the 120 BPM grid, soft thumps in the middle scenes, and pops/bells synced to on-screen events.
PROCESS
Build the engine and riso texture kit first and show me stills before building every scene. After all scenes are in, check stills around each transition and fix any collisions between text and shapes. For families
One plan, with the whole family in it.
Share a plan with your spouse, link their accounts with one tap, and model Medicare and elder care for your parents in the same place. Linking is an Appleseed Pro feature.

The prompt
Build a 30-second procedural promotional animation for my financial planning startup, Appleseed, about how it works for FAMILIES, as ONE self-contained index.html (Canvas 2D, no external libraries, fonts, images or assets — every pixel drawn by code). Make the finished animation, not a demo.
TONE
Warm, human, togetherness. This film is about one person taking care of the people they love — a spouse and aging parents — while Appleseed does the hard part. Never cold or technical. No literal UI screenshots, no dashboards, no charts with axes.

- Limited ink palette: forest green-black #143A2A, leaf green #1C9458, mint #96D2AC, sunflower yellow #F8B424 (the "warmth" accent — it appears whenever someone is helped), plus a paper-colored knockout ink for light shapes on dark fields.

- People are simple riso figures: a circle head, a short neck and a rounded body about one head-and-a-half tall, no faces, gently leaning toward each other and breathing slightly. Warm and childlike, never detailed.
- Type: native serif (ui-serif / Georgia) for headlines, -apple-system small caps for labels. Big, minimal text.
THE LOGO
The Appleseed mark is a "fleur": six almond leaves radiating from a center (one pointing straight up) in leaf green, beside a serif "Appleseed" wordmark. The fleur is the constant center point of the film and represents the plan itself — things are sent into it and it grows. Open and close on the full logo lockup.
RECURRING PROPS (all drawn rough, reused across scenes)
- THE PLAN CARD: a dark forest-green card carrying a mint rising line over a band of futures and a small green end dot. It always has that graph on it, even when small, and fills in headline lines as it opens.
- THE SECURE LINK: a dashed cream line arcing between two people, with a large yellow PADLOCK that snaps shut on it.
- THE ENVELOPE: cream with a forest outline and flap, travelling along the link.
- BANK ICONS: a cream building with a triangular roof and three columns; each gets a small green leaf tick when connected.
TIMELINE (120 BPM grid, 1920×1080, time-based)
1. 0–3.5s Seed (cream): a dot pops, rings ripple out, six leaves sprout into the fleur, "Appleseed" wipes in beside it, then wipes away.
2. 3.5–9s Your spouse (mint field, cream hill): two figures stand either side of the fleur, leaning in. The plan card travels from you to them in a small arc, then opens large beside them with a warm yellow glow behind them. Headline "Share your plan with your spouse." plus small label "NO LOGIN. NOTHING TO LEARN."
3. 9–15s One secure link (halftone yellow field): a green halftone plan disc holds the fleur in the middle, you on the left, your spouse on the right. The dashed link draws between you, an envelope travels along it, and a big yellow padlock seals it. Three bank icons pop up beside your spouse and each gets a green leaf tick; the banks then travel down the link into the plan, shrinking as they land, each landing sending out a yellow ripple. Their mint circle slides in and overprints with the plan. Headline "They link their accounts with one tap." plus small label "A SECURE LINK · NOT A SECOND ACCOUNT".
4. 15–22s Your parents (solid green field, cream figures): two parents stand side by side on the left, you and your spouse on the right, the fleur above the middle. You help BOTH parents at the same time, never one then the other: two dashed links draw together, two envelopes fly out together, both padlocks seal together, and each parent's bank travels up into the plan. Then a MEDICARE card and an ELDER CARE card rise above the pair with a yellow cost curve behind them. Headlines in sequence: "Plan for your parents, too." then "Medicare and elder care, modelled."
5. 22–26.5s Together (cream field): all three ink circles (mint, green, yellow) and their figures gather in around the fleur, which grows while rings ripple outward in a slow heartbeat. Headline "One plan. The whole family in it."
6. 26.5–30s Signature: the fleur slides into the logo lockup, "Appleseed" wipes in, then the italic tagline "Financial planning for the whole family." with a green underline sized to the tagline, then "APPLESEEDPLANNER.COM". The final frame HOLDS at the end — scenes running to 30s must keep drawing, never go blank.
